The Edinburgh Tool Library turns 10: Celebrating a Decade of Community and Creativity

Edinburgh Tool Library celebrates turning 10 this year, and we want to celebrate in true ETL style by bringing people together through events, workshops and social gatherings to reflect on ten years of sharing.  We will be looking back on our outreach and library work, our volunteer builds, members’ projects…

Edinburgh Tool Library celebrates turning 10 this year, and we want to celebrate in true ETL style by bringing people together through events, workshops and social gatherings to reflect on ten years of sharing.  We will be looking back on our outreach and library work, our volunteer builds, members’ projects and celebrating the people and organisations that made them happen.  We will also be looking forward to the future, thinking about where we ETL in the next five years, and how we can help the whole of Edinburgh join the sharing revolution.  For more information on our events, go to edinburghtoollibrary.org.uk/10-years-of-sharing or check out our home page to find out more about ETL and get involved!

The Edinburgh Tool Library

A tool library is first a simple idea – it works like a normal library but with tools instead of books. Borrow things like drills, sanders, and steamers by the week. Join in events like DIY classes, workshops, and community builds. Meet your neighbours and people from your community, share your knowledge and skills, or learn something new. We run an employability programme, a series of volunteer builds, and a residency programme for young makers.
