Featuring 70+ authors from the world of science fiction, fantasy and horror, the popular Cymera Festival takes over The Pleasance for 3 days of spine-chilling literature.

This year’s programme includes over 50 events, including panels, plays, writing workshops, open mics, live performances, agent one-to-ones, authors signings, live podcast recordings and quizzes, some of which are free to attend. Festival goers will be able to enjoy a mix of in-person and digital events.

Some of the authors taking part this year include Sylvie Cathrall (A Letter to the Luminous Deep), Trip Galey (A Market of Dreams and Destiny), Sangu Mandanna (The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches), S.A. MacLean (The Phoenix Keeper), Lucy Holland (Song of the Huntress) and Charles Stross (Season of Skulls).

All events are individually ticketed. A Weekend Pass includes entry to all in-person and digital panels. The venue for the festival’s duration is The Pleasance in the Southside area of the city. Lothian Buses routes 14, 29, 30, 33, 37 and 41 all stop on nearby Nicolson Street. It is then a short walk to the venue.

The venue is fully wheelchair accessible. For those who appreciate a space to escape the buzz of the festival, a dedicated quite space will be available. View the full programme and book your tickets on Cymera Festival.
