The defiant and inspiring works of Everlyn Nicodemus take centre stage in a new free to visit exhibition at National Galleries of Scotland: Modern One.

Visitors will be able to view over 80 drawings, collages, paintings and textiles from the last 40 years of Everlyn’s career through to the present day, including new artworks created especially for the exhibition.

Believing that creativity can be a form of healing, her artworks are a powerful response to the global oppression of women, the profound impact of racism and her personal trauma and recovery. Her works experiment with bold and courageous use of colour, form, light and shade.

Visitors can enjoy a free audio tour as part of their experience. Led by Everlyn herself, listeners will be guided around the exhibition as she highlights selected works and delves deeper into her inspirations, experiences and creative process.

The exhibition will be accompanied by an inclusive programme of events, including talks, tours and workshops. Advance booking is required.

Modern One is a 15 minute walk from Princes Street. If travelling by public transport, Edinburgh Coach Lines service 13 runs regularly to the area.
