Two master improvisers from opposite sides of the Atlantic come together for a rare and unforgettable evening of jazz. Legendary New York saxophonist and flautist Frank Perowsky joins acclaimed Scottish trumpeter Colin Steele alongside the Green Note Trio for a night of inspired interplay, deep swing and lyrical improvisation.
Frank Perowsky has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than six decades, performing and recording with an extraordinary range of artists including Billy Taylor, Tito Rodriguez, Peggy Lee, Nancy Wilson, Mel Tormé, Michel Legrand and Liza Minnelli. His warm, expressive tenor sound and masterful flute playing continue to captivate audiences worldwide.
Joining him is Colin Steele, one of the UK’s most distinctive jazz voices. Deeply rooted in both the jazz tradition and the melodic richness of Scottish and Irish folk music, Steele has earned widespread acclaim for his evocative compositions and lyrical trumpet playing. From intimate quartet settings to the celebrated large ensemble Stramash, Steele’s music is renowned for its emotional depth, cinematic atmosphere and soaring melodic invention.
