Showcasing Gaelic language and culture across the Scottish capital, Gaelic Week Edinburgh celebrates its 11th anniversary.

Held in conjunction with the World Gaelic Week, an international festival connecting people across the globe to promote Scottish Gaelic, Gaelic Week Edinburgh – Seachdain Gàidhlig Dhùn Èideann –will take place at venues across the city.

The week-long programme includes film screenings, student drop-ins, ceilidh dancing and multilingual performances of story, song and poetry, all of which celebrate Gaelic language, culture and community in Edinburgh, past and present. Several of the events are free to attend.

From highland dances, lunches and coffee mornings, to talks, history sessions, school plays and choir singing, there’s something for everyone of all ages.
