Opera Caledonia: Dido & Aeneas in Concert


Opera Caledonia’s Performance Project give a concert performance of Purcell’s Baroque masterpiece, Dido & Aeneas.

This performance – by participants of Opera Caledonia’s Performance Project, a young artist programme with singers from the UK, the USA and Europe – will be sung in English with English surtitles.

It will be conducted from the harpsichord by Derek Clark, Scottish Opera’s celebrated former Head of Music, and directed by Iona Boyd whose recent directing engagements include the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Opera North and Scottish Opera.

This event is suitable for those aged 10+ years old. Children must have their own ticket and be accompanied by a paying adult.

The Edinburgh Society of Musicians is equipped with a stairlift, however, please note that the building is not wheelchair accessible.

Opera Caledonia: Dido & Aeneas in Concert takes place on the evening of 11 July 2026. Tickets should be pre-booked online.
