Looking for a new outdoors activity? Something that’s family friendly and gets the kids outside, or that will give you a different type of exercise with a bit of mental challenge? Want to explore new places? Then maybe orienteering is for you!

Orienteering is an adventure sport that exercises both body and mind. Using a map, the aim is to find the best way round a set of check-points. Choose whether to run or walk, compete with others or do it as an individual challenge. Fun for all ages and abilities, with a choice of different lengths and challenges, there’s something for everyone.

Taking place on the afternoon of Saturday 05 October 2024 at Braidburn Valley Park, Interlopers Orienteering Club invite anyone interested in trying out the sport to come along to this open event.

Courses range from 1 to 6km, with options for beginners as well as more experienced orienteers. Club volunteers will be on hand to support newcomers.

Enter in advance to guarantee a map; there will be a limited number of maps available on a first-come-first-served basis on the day. Entries close at midnight on Thursday 03 October 2024.
