Taking place on 17 June 2026, St Mary’s Music School Vocal Department present Opera Scenes 2026, a fully staged production at Stockbridge Parish Church.

Stranded in a bomb shelter during the height of the Blitz, four Londoners are thrown together and come face-to-face with not just each other, but with their own demons. Featuring operatic scenes and works by composers such as Britten, Handel, Mozart, Jonathan Dove and Offenbach, this staged performance weaves together stories of love, conflict and resilience during Britain’s darkest hours.

The performance showcases the work of St Mary’s Music School’s Vocal Department, bringing together a varied programme of opera scenes.

Stockbridge Parish Church is located on Saxe Coburg Street, and be reached with Lothian Buses services 24 or 29 from Frederick Street, 23 or 27 from The Mound or 42 from George Street, followed by a short walk.

There is step-free access via the church’s side door, which also provides step free access to all areas. On the ground floor there is a fully accessible toilet. Assistance dogs are always welcome in the church.
