Get inspiration for your days out

Around a 40 minute walk or 20 minute bus or tram journey from Edinburgh city centre will take you to the eclectic and bustling neighbourhood of Leith.

Leith is one of Edinburgh’s most varied neighbourhoods. From the top of Leith Walk and it’s major shopping and entertainment venues, into Leith itself with its bustling pavements lined with independent shops, international dining and independent shops, and onto The Shore with waterside dining and cultural attractions that pay homage to the area’s nautical heritage. Leith is a neighbourhood where there is always something new and exciting to discover.

Continue along the waterfront and the pretty village of Newhaven awaits. Once a thriving fishing village and a centre for shipbuilding, now it is a peaceful location where some of the city’s best fish and seafood can be enjoyed.

Together, these neighbourhoods are home to a variety of businesses that make this area truly special. Discover award-winning restaurants, and bars where the welcome is always warm, as well as independent shops that stock everything on your shopping list, and attractions that offer fun days out for all the family.
