How to get involved

• Step 1 – Complete the itison sign-up form below
  
• Step 2 – itison will be in touch via hostservices@itison.com to finalise your onboarding.
  
• Step 3 – Get your team ready. Make sure anyone who may be serving customers knows that your business is taking part and understands how the vouchers work.
  
• Step 4 – Customers will come in store to use their vouchers.
  
• Step 5 – Redeem vouchers straight away to ensure prompt payment. (Details on how to do this can be found below).
  
• Step 6 – All vouchers will be reimbursed in full by City of Edinburgh Council within 2 weeks.*

*We will work with itison and our finance team to ensure any large purchases made with multiple vouchers are reimbursed as efficiently as possible to minimise cash flow pressure.

Below are some helpful tips and advice to help you with the voucher redemption process.

Do I need to sign-up with itison to take part?

Yes, you need to register your business at the form above to take part in the More by the Shore itison voucher scheme. Once your application is processed, you’ll receive full details from itison so that you are ready to accept and process vouchers.

Communications from itison will come from the email address hostservices@itison.com

How can I share the details with my team?

Make sure anyone who may be serving customers knows that your business is taking part and understands how the vouchers work. Share the short itison redemption video below with your team to ensure everyone knows how to accept and redeem a voucher.

How do I redeem the voucher?

Redeem the customer’s voucher through the itison system straight away at the time it is used. This is important to ensure that your payment is processed as quickly as possible. It also generates valuable analytics for your vouchers.

There are 3 easy ways to redeem a voucher:

1. Use the itison Hub scanner app: the quickest way to redeem vouchers using QR codes and suited to businesses redeeming high volumes of vouchers in quick succession
2. Paperless voucher: This is an easy way to redeem, as the customer simply shows you the voucher on their mobile, allowing your team to quickly redeem while the customer is present. No Hub login is required.
3. The itison Hub is a comprehensive portal for managing all the details of your vouchers, including sales overviews, analytics and payments, as well as redeeming vouchers.

What happens if the voucher value is different to the item bought?

If a customer’s purchase is more than the value of the voucher, they can simply pay the difference directly to your businesses.

If a customer’s purchase is less than the value of the voucher, the full voucher is still redeemed, and your business will receive the full face value of the voucher. No change or remaining balance is given back to the customer.

How do I receive my payment?

Your business will receive the full face value of each voucher successfully redeemed. itison will provide City of Edinburgh Council with details of vouchers redeemed, and they will make payment directly to your business every two weeks.

It is therefore important that all vouchers are correctly redeemed through itison at time of use, as payments will be based on the redemption information provided to City of Edinburgh Council.
