Business Champions Network (BCN)

What is the Business Champions Network?

The Business Champions Network (BCN) brings together individuals from local businesses, Traders Associations, and Community Councils across Edinburgh’s 10 neighbourhoods including:

  • Bruntsfield / Morningside
  • Leith
  • Gorgie
  • Queensferry
  • Corstorphine
  • Grassmarket
  • Royal Mile
  • Stockbridge
  • Southside
  • Portobello

It serves as an informal forum for businesses to connect, share insights, and engage with City of Edinburgh Council officers on key local and citywide matters.

The network was established to help form new business networks where none previously existed and to strengthen existing ones by providing a platform for discussion and collaboration.

How does the BCN work?

  • • The BCN is business-led, with Council officers facilitating discussions and sharing relevant updates.
  • • It provides businesses with direct access to Council officers on operational matters and elected members on strategic issues.
  • • Quarterly teams meetings offer updates on neighbourhood activity, Business Gateway support, Forever Edinburgh marketing initiatives, and other key opportunities and challenges.
  • • It creates a space for businesses to exchange best practices and learn from other neighbourhoods.

Why get involved?

During COVID-19, the BCN played a key role in business recovery, supporting initiatives like #ShopHereThisYear. Today, it continues to provide businesses with a vital communication channel and an opportunity to shape the local business environment.
