Starting and finishing outside the Scottish Seabird Centre at North Berwick (less from 40 minutes train journey from Edinburgh) this is a great opportunity to learn, see and ask questions about the birds, mammals and cetaceans that live around Scotland’s coasts.
Visitors will be guided on a return journey along Milsey Bay beach, with the tour varying on the particular wildlife visible and the interests of the group. The tour will last for around 90 minutes.
As the route includes some gentle slopes, uneven sand, rocky ground and slippy surfaces, all participants are advised to wear sturdy boots or shoes and dress according to the weather. Binoculars and wildlife ID sheets will be provided.
Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on a short lead for the duration of the tour. In conjunction with Beach Wheelchairs, all Scottish Seabird Centre coastal wildlife tours are now accessible for wheelchair users (subject to availability). To discuss available equipment and arrange a session for a tour please contact the Beach Wheelchair volunteers on info@beachwheelchairs.org or telephone 0300 111 2112. A range of adapted manual wheelchairs and an all-terrain power wheelchair are available.
Coastal Wildlife Tours take place on selected dates from 07 September to 16 December 2023. Book your place now on the Scottish Seabird Centre website.
