At this free to attend event, participants will make a Brigid Doll and Brigid Crosses, whilst sharing songs and threads and story connected to Imbolc.
Imbolc falls halfway between the winter solstice and the spring equinox and is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals, along with Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhuinn. Traditionally, the Brigid Doll was made by the young women in the community and then taken from house to house with much singing, feasting and dancing.
All materials will be provided but feel free to bring anything to contribute if you wish, such as felting wool, driftwood, shells, wool, silks, flowers or reeds.
The Scottish Storytelling Centre has level access to all spaces including the theatre. It is wheelchair friendly, with accessible toilets. Baby changing facilities are available within the ground floor accessible toilet. Assistance dogs are welcome.
