Held upstairs in the Waverley Bar, Guid Crack features rich and varied tales, alongside an open-floor section for anyone to share a story, song or poem around the theme or otherwise.

Upcoming sessions include:

  • Guid Crack: Voices of Change (29 May 2026). Dan Serridge is a storyteller, community artist and facilitator who creates vibrant storytelling projects for all ages and abilities. He tells stories and helps others to tell theirs, supporting everyone to see their experiences as pieces of art, often combining the personal and the folkloric. Free, non-ticketed, cash donations welcome.
  • Guid Crack: Midsummer Dreaming (26 June 2026). Harriet Grindley’s stories connect with place, history, myth and community. She particularly enjoys using Gaelic, songs, clarsach or concertina, found objects and images to create an immersive and inclusive environment. Free, non-ticketed, cash donations welcome.

There is level access to all spaces within the Scottish Storytelling Centre, including the theatre. The venue is wheelchair friendly, with accessible toilets. The ground floor accessible toilet has baby changing facilities. Assistance dogs are welcome.
