Featuring celebrity chefs, a range of delicious worldwide food and drink, and live music, Edinburgh Foodies Festival takes place in Inverleith Park from 02 to 04 August 2024.
Known as Gastro-Glastonbury, the three-day festival will include live cooking demonstrations from TV celebrities and chefs drawn from the ranks of MasterChef, Great British Bake Off and Great British Menu. While chart-topping music stars, Blue, Peter Andre and the exhilarating Symphonic Ibiza Orchestra will be entertaining guests with live music.
Cooking up a storm,the Live Cooking Theatre will host an array of Michelin-starred and top chefs including Gary Maclean, National Chef of Scotland and MasterChef: The Professionals champion; Dean Banks (The Pompadour) and Jimmy Lee (Salt and Chilli Oriental), all of whom will be creating their signature dishes and sharing new tips and tricks.
In the Cake and Desserts Theatre, patisserie chefs and star bakers such as Great British Bake Off 2023 winner, Matty Edgell will be whipping up showstoppers and offering tempting sweet treats. Younger family members can also get in on the action, with The Kids Cookery Theatre offering fun and creative classes.
The Drinks Theatre is the place to be for champagne, beer, cider, cocktail and wine-tasting masterclasses. Browse the latest food trends in the Shopping Village, meet local producers in the Artisan Market and taste exotic and unusual new dishes in the Feasting Tent – which features a mouth-watering range of street food and delicacies from all four corners of the globe.
Other features and attractions on this year’s programme include TV chef battles, fire pit BBQ sessions, silent disco, fairground rides, choirs, children’s activities and family-friendly areas. Throughout the weekend, the Music Stage will present a summer soundtrack of chart-topping artists, top tribute acts, covers bands and superb local bands.
