Known as the ‘defender of the nation’, Edinburgh Castle has borne witness to many historical events. What decisive action did Queen Joan take to protect her son’s inheritance? Which queen saved her husband from imprisonment in the castle? Was Queen Victoria amused by her visits to the castle, or not? Learn all this and more on this special 90 minute tour.

A variety of themes will be covered including marriage, childbirth/infant mortality, motherhood, queens as regents, military command, sainthood and women’s rights. The recommended age for joining this tour is 16 years+. Ticket prices include castle admission.
