The Ripley Scroll is a 5.5 metre long alchemical scroll filled with illustrations and poems which allegedly contains the secret to the elixir of life. On this free 20 minute talk, visitors will learn more about this object, which is on display in the Physicians’ Gallery.
Physicians’ Gallery, which is within the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, is a permanent gallery and learning centre which explores our relationship with health, medicine and our bodies.
The gallery is fully wheelchair accessible. There is a self-operated street lift at 11 Queen Street. There are accessible toilets onsite, with grab rails, emergency cords, lowered mirrors and fittings. Wheelchairs can be borrowed by asking staff at the reception desk. All audio and video content within the gallery is displayed in text format, and all exhibition label and panel text is available in large print format in a folder within the gallery. Assistance dogs are welcome.
