Throughout this course at the Edinburgh Sewcial Club studio, you’ll be guided through pattern-cutting techniques that make it simple to resize vintage treasures or charity shop finds. You’ll also explore how to construct entirely new garments from old fabric or re-line your favourite jackets.

Whether you’re looking to adjust a fit or completely reimagine a style, you’ll have the space and support to get hands-on with your projects. Class sizes are kept small, so you’ll receive plenty of one-to-one time with a professional dressmaker and designer who has decades of experience to share.

While you don’t need to be an up-cycling expert to join in, some prior machine sewing experience is necessary to get the most out of the sessions. It’s a great place to start if you’ve already completed a beginner’s sewing class and want to take your skills to the next level.

Classes run on 20 May, 27 May and 03 June 2026. The Edinburgh Sewcial Club is on London Road. The venue is wheelchair accessible, with lifts and disabled toilets.
