Leith Creative Trail returns this winter for its fifth year, bringing together 33 venues, hundreds of independent creatives and an extended two-week programme celebrating the wealth of artistic talent across Leith.
From independent studios and galleries to workshops and hidden creative spaces, the trail offers a chance to discover the people, places and ideas that make Leith such a distinctive and vibrant part of Edinburgh.
With more venues taking part than ever before, visitors can meet local artists and makers, see behind the scenes of their creative practices and discover an extraordinary range of work, from ceramics, textiles and jewellery to printmaking, furniture and original artworks. As the festive season approaches, the Trail also offers an alternative to the high street, with opportunities to find unique, handmade gifts while supporting local artists, makers and independent businesses.
Plus, on Saturday 28 November, families can enjoy free, hands-on creative sessions, while Saturday 12 December will see a programme of adult workshops offering the chance to learn new skills and make something special for the festive season. Both sessions take place at Edinburgh Open Workshop.
To help visitors plan their route, a specially designed trail map and directory will be available at venues along the Trail. A downloadable version is also available.
