Stack & Still

With a name like Stack & Still, this place specialises in, yes you guessed it – pancakes!

Now with two venues in the city – Hanover Street and inside Bonnie & Wild at St James Quarter, fluffy pancakes are within easy reach.

Choose from buttermilk, buckwheat, protein, gluten free or low fat, select a size, and then the fun really begin. With an astonishing range of toppings, whether your taste is sweet or savoury, the humble pancake has never tasted so good.

Well-behaved dogs are also welcome.

The City Café

The City Cafe’s bellybusting all-day breakfast menu is full of indulgent choices and their vanilla infused pancakes don’t disappoint. Choose from a stack of three or, if you’re feeling ambitious, a stack of five!

Thankfully the Royal Mile is just around the corner for a brisk walk afterwards if you’ve got that “filled to the brim” feeling.

The Haven

A popular cosy café in Newhaven, The Haven serve a mouth-watering breakfast menu.

Order the pancakes and you’ll be served two sizable, thick and fluffy pancakes with maple syrup with bacon optional. Look out for their special toppings too.

Seeds for the Soul

A completely vegan café in Bruntsfield, Seeds for the Soul is famous for its brunch offering, especially their sweet and savoury pancakes.

The tall stack of soft and sweet pancakes with fruit, cinnamon, desiccated coconut and maple syrup is especially delicious.

The Little Bakery

Well known locally in South Queensferry for their delicious selection of cakes, The Little Bakery’s pancake selection also satisfies those with a sweet tooth.

Choose from Nutella and Oreo, Biscoff smore or apple crumble – need we say anymore!

Loudons have two venues in Edinburgh – in Fountainbridge (walking distance from Lothian Road and Dalry) and New Waverley.

For the ultimate in light and fluffy indulgence, try their American style pancakes with orange and cranberry. Or how about sticky toffee with apple compote and toffee sauce?

For a more wholesome treat, their superfood pancakes are non-gluten and dairy-free and made with sweet potato and parsnip, tomato and carrot chutney and crème fraiche.

Bakery Andante

Walking past any of Bakery Andante’s three bakeries in the city without popping in for one of their delicious baked goods, takes a strong-willed person! If you’re looking for a top-notch breakfast eatery, we recommend their café on Broughton Street.

Their freshly made pancakes come with a choice of bacon and maple syrup or caramelised pineapples with rum and raisins.
