Drawing inspiration from art history, socio-political movements and cultural shifts over the past six decades, POP LIFE invites viewers to engage with the ever-changing dynamics of art within society.
Featuring both Scottish and international artists, many of whom are showcasing their work in Scotland for the first time, POP LIFE delves into the blend of popular culture and contemporary figurative drawing, challenging the conventional boundaries between high and low art.
Drawing on a range of cultural influences—such as music, film, fashion, literature, social media, and celebrity—these works highlight this dynamic interplay, utilising familiar language to examine themes that broaden traditional drawing practices.
A range of events will also be running in conjunction with the exhibition.
An escalator and lift provide easy access to six floors. Mimi’s Bakehouse is situated on the ground floor, open daily 9am to 5pm (last sit-ins at 4:30pm) offering coffee, cake and an all-day brunch menu.
Adult tickets are £5.00; Concessions are £3.00 per person. This includes joint entry to both POP LIFE and another City Art Centre exhibition, Through Line.
