Taking place in cinemas around the UK, Edinburgh’s Filmhouse will be hosting a variety of screenings from 12 to 19 March 2026, offering audiences the chance to see with the latest and greatest selection of cinema to come out of Japan.

Cinema goers will be able to enjoy a host of films, from contemporary films to classics and anime – all around this year’s theme, Knowing Me, Knowing You: The True Self in Japanese Cinema.

From serious social dramas (A Bad Summer) and laugh-out-loud comedies (ANGRY SQUAD: The Civil Servant and the Seven Swindlers), to an authentic portrayal of contemporary youth and human connection (She Taught Me Serendipity), the programme guarantees something for everyone.
