This winter, discover spectacular projections and dazzling displays as the iconic Edinburgh Castle is illuminated after-dark.
Back for its fourth year, the majestic Edinburgh Castle will once again be beautiful illuminated for the magical Castle of Light: Magic and Mystery.
Prepare to be dazzled on this family-friendly trail through the castle grounds. Experience state of the art light installations, all of which tell an enchanting story against the backdrop of this ancient fortress. This year’s brand new show focuses on tales of magic, mystery and spectacular sorcery from Scotland’s past.
This event takes place on selected dates from 24 November 2023 to 03 January 2024 with timed entry slots from 4.30pm to 7.30pm. The recommended length of time required to see and enjoy the full trail is 1 hour.
The trail is suitable for all ages, although children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
As this is an outdoor event, please dress according to the weather.
For those visitors that prefer a quieter experience, on Sunday 03 December there will be reduced capacity. The evening will feature a range of specific support including British Sign Language interpretation, as well as a designated quiet space and ear defenders to help manage noise, in partnership with Scottish Autism.
