The new UNESCO UK Industrial Trail brings together 22 UNESCO designations in celebration of the United Kingdom’s internationally significant industrial heritage to form a trail for enthusiasts to explore.

The Forth Bridge will be marking the launch of this new trail with a free exhibition and short talks on 26 June 2026 in the Contact and Education Centre at South Queensferry.

The day’s talks include:

  • 11am: Dr Miles Oglethorpe, former Head of Industrial Heritage at Historic Environment Scotland – What makes industrial heritage so special?
  • 12 noon: Mark Watson, deputy Head of Industrial Heritage at Historic Environment Scotland – Industrial Heritage Routes.
  • 2pm: John Andrew, Transport Scotland & Forth Bridges Forum – The Forth Bridge:  Restoring an Icon.

The Forth Bridge History Group, the Briggers, will also be doing talks and riveting demonstrations throughout the day.
