Hari Budha Magar MBE is a Guinness World Records icon who made history in May 2023, as the world’s first double above-knee amputee to successfully summit Mount Everest.
But he didn’t just stop there. After previously climbing Mt. Blanc (Europe) and Mt. Kilimanjaro (Africa) in preparation for Everest, Hari went on to push his limits even further by taking on the highest peaks across all seven continents. Demonstrating resilience, perseverance, innovation and an unshakable positive mindset, Hari has broken new boundaries in mountaineering, becoming the first double above-knee amputee in history to complete the 7 Summits.
Christmas Lecture 2026: Hari Budha Magar takes place on the evening of 03 December 2026 at the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. Pre-booking is required.
