Conductor Luis Schmidt will lead the ensemble through a programme that portrays Scotland from four perspectives: Malcolm Arnold’s Four Scottish Dances, James MacMillan’s Larghetto, Max Richter’s film score for Mary Queen of Scots and Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy,
Rising-star violinist Andrea Cicalese will join the orchestra for Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy, the evening’s radiant centrepiece, which draws richly on Scottish traditional music.
One City Trust welcomes cash donations after the concert in support of its work to combat inequality across Edinburgh.
