This festive season, Dalkeith Country Park will be transformed into a WinterFest of events for all the family.
At the centerpiece of festivities will be a brand-new, eco-friendly Ice Rink. Using cutting-edge technology, this unique skating experience requires no water, energy, or carbon emissions – making it a sustainable way to enjoy festive fun. Nestled beside the iconic Orangerie and surrounded by twinkling lights, glide across the ice on one of the skating sessions or skate the night away at one of the musical Skate & Shake sessions.
Alongside skating, visitors can take part in a variety of festive events and activities. Children can bring the joy of Christmas to life by Meeting Santa. Enjoy a magical group storytelling session with A Tale with Santa. Also making its return due to popular demand is Elf Storytelling – with the mischievous elf leading fun-filled sessions, it’s perfect for little ones. The whole family can enjoy festive dining with Breakfast with Santa in The Kitchen at Restoration Yard.
Kids’ Christmas Workshops offer creative activities like card-making and cookie decorating, while adults can get festive with Wreath Making Workshops.
The popular Elf & Santa Dash has been given a fresh twist this year, becoming the Festive Doddie Dash, now supporting My Name’5 Doddie Foundation. All profits from the event will go directly to the foundation, which is dedicated to raising funds for motor neuron disease (MND) research.
After a day of skating and festive activities, visitors can explore the beautifully decorated Restoration Yard. Offering a wide selection of unique Christmas gifts, festive treats, and a seasonal dining experience, it’s the perfect place to wrap up your visit to WinterFest.
Events and activities run on selected dates between 29 November 2024 and 05 January 2025. View the full programme, plan your visit and book tickets on WinterFest at Dalkeith Country Park.
