Dalkeith Country Park is set to bring the magic of Christmas to life once again as WinterFest returns this festive season.
The festivities begin with the WinterFest Opening Night on 28 November. Visitors can enjoy a live brass band, late-night shopping, festive food and drinks and the official opening of the WinterFest Skating Rink.
At the heart of the event is the Skating Rink. Using cutting-edge technology, this unique experience requires no water or energy – making it a sustainable way to enjoy festive fun. Surrounded by twinkling lights, glide across the ice or skate the night away at one of the musical Skate & Shake sessions.
Alongside skating, visitors can take part in a variety of festive events and activities. Children can enjoy a whimsical Christmas story at A Tale with Santa, or get creative in festive workshops, from gingerbread house decorating to Christmas crafts. Grown-ups can join the fun too with Wreath Making Workshops, crafting beautiful creations.
At the ever-popular Festive Doddie Dash on 14 December, in aid of The Park’s charity partner, My Name’5 Doddie Foundation, runners can take part in the 1K or 3K Elf Dash or 5K Santa Dash. Festive fancy dress is encouraged!

Plus, new for 2025, Go Ape Dalkeith is bringing its Sundown Adventures to Scotland for the first time. Take to the treetops after dark and navigate high ropes and zip lines surrounded by glowing festive lights.
After a day of skating and festive activities, visitors can explore the beautifully decorated Restoration Yard. Offering a wide selection of unique Christmas gifts, festive treats, and a seasonal dining experience, it’s the perfect place to wrap up your day.
Events and activities run on selected dates between 28 November 2025 and 04 January 2026. View the full programme, plan your visit and book tickets on WinterFest at Dalkeith Country Park.
