Taking place over 3 days, this retreat is open to everyone, no writing experience is necessary. Enjoy an entire weekend of writing, mini-workshops and high-quality food from local, independent eateries.
As part of the workshops, participants will look at how to keep up a regular writing routine, an exploration of barriers, and some practical tips and exercises. They’ll also be plenty of time to unwind, relax and celebrate your writing achievements with your fellow retreat-mates.
Each day’s activities will take place at Tribe Porty in Portobello. The venue has level and step-free access throughout, and an accessible disabled toilet. The walls and the doors have high colour contrast and there is good lighting throughout. Please note, this retreat does not include accommodation.
Edinburgh Writers’ Retreat Big Weekender takes place between 19 and 22 June 2026. Places are limited and should be booked in advance.
