Open to LGBTQ+ people and allies of all ages, these workshops will be led by artist Rachel Howarth and RCPE Heritage Engagement Co-ordinator Rachel Forrest.

  • Queer Alchemy Collage (16 June 2026). Using collage and mixed-media as a form of alchemy, this workshop will take inspiration from Rebis, a central symbolic figure in alchemy, who can be seen in the College’s new exhibition space. Depicted with two heads, one ‘male’ and the other ‘female’, Rebis symbolises the union of masculine and feminine within one identity. All materials will be provided.
  • Queer Botanical Mark Making (18 June 2026). In this workshop, participants will be ‘queering’ botanical illustration. Using a range of art materials and paper types, use fun drawing prompts to explore different ways of recording plants and flowers. There will be a selection of plants to draw from life, with lavender as the centrepiece chosen for its associations with the LGBTQ+ community.

Both workshops are free to attend, but booking is essential.
