Hosted by St Mary’s Music School, this course is exclusively, for pupils aged between 10 and 18 years old who have at least 2 years’ experience playing their instrument,

A non-residential course, participants will explore various musical styles from Baroque to contemporary. They’ll be the chance to experiment with melodic ideas using existing harmonic frameworks, try out different rhythmic patterns and grooves and have a go at solo improvisation as well as group improvisation in different instrument combinations.

Whether you are new to improvisation or have some experience, you’ll have the chance to play with other musicians and explore a wide range of musical styles.
