Join artist Sheena Russell to take a new look at the museum’s collections and be guided through a range of drawing activities in the Ancient Egypt Rediscovered gallery. This session will focus on the representation of the human form in ancient Egyptian artefacts and will be held from 2pm to 4pm.
Sheena Russell studied Fine Art Drawing & Painting at Glasgow School of Art, graduating with her BA (Hons) in 1997. She works as a professional artist from her studio at Trongate 103 and has exhibited her work in the UK, Europe and New York.
All abilities are welcome at this relaxed and informal session. All materials will be supplied on the day. The sessions are suitable for ages 18+.
These sessions are held at the National Museum of Scotland. There is level access to the Museum via the main doors to the Entrance Hall on Chambers Street and the Tower entrance at the corner of Chambers Street and George IV Bridge. Lifts are available to all floors of the museum, wheelchairs are also available for loan at no charge, and all assistance dogs are welcome.
Induction loops can be accessed throughout the museum and if you are here for a workshop, staff leading them are happy to wear microphones provided. Hearing helpers can also be used by staff during a session.
